  1. Hi Kathrine
I finally found time to read your detailed posts on your Norge på langs adventure. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and providing detailed insights on your preparation and route!
I share your principles of the general concept with no supply parcels or external support, as well as regarding the route heading south and crossing of all major mountain areas. Hence, I consider your concept as a great starting base to further shape my intention to do NPL becoming true. Very interesting insights I take out of your packing list, that differs from many others in regard of a reasonable base weight while allowing a good level of comfort. Your trade-off on food, first-aid items and navigation I found very inspiring since these are generally linked with safety.

    1. Thank you for your comment. I do not consider my choices of navigation or first-aid items linked with weight or safety at all. If I thought these items necessary, I´d definitely bring them. I genuinely believe my navigation choices are as, and probably more, safe than any. And as for the first-aid: I would never bring more than I do, because I´d never use it. I suppose as a trauma surgeon working in primitive settings I have developed an idea of what is really necessary. The only area where I compromised on safety, was bringing the lightweight tent. I should have brought my 4-season Hilleberg. even though it is a kilo more. As for food: As long as there is water, it is completely safe to walk several days without eating – and I never even got to that point. It may be uncomfortable, but it is not dangerous.
