Equipment for Norge på Langs. Requirements: Temp Equipment for Norge på Langs. Requirements: Temperatures between -5 and + 30 degrees, extended stretches with no resupply (max 12 days). I used the same equipment for the entire 2702 km. Base weight 12 kg. Max weight carried (incl 12 days food): Just below 20 kg. Some specifics: Paper maps were not used. “Minimum food” = Food per day when carrying for > days (photo 5), not a lot and only 1200 kcal, but for 12 days it works. All the details on the equipment now on the website (link in bio). #norgepålangs #norgepålangs2020 #ultralighthikingdk

Last (and to my surprise also the toughest) mount Last (and to my surprise also the toughest) mountain area of Norge på Langs: Suldals-Ryfylke-Setesdalsheiene. Tough terrain in the toughest weather of the entire trip. I thought I’d cross this area in 8 days - I spent 14.
Route: Haukeliseter-Bleskestadmoen-Jonstølen-Krossvatn-Taumevatn-Gaukhei-Ljosland.

Apart from two reindeer hunters I did not meet any Apart from two reindeer hunters I did not meet anyone when I crossed Hardangervidda on the classic route from Finse to Haukeliseter. It was late September, just before autumn break and for some strange reason the four last bridges from Hellevassbu to Haukeliseter had already been removed, leading to the biggest river crossings of the entire Norge på Langs. Hardangervidda was national park number 13 and the last of the trip. Arriving at Haukeliseter also marked the completion of the 363 km #DNTmassiv trail, which started at @sotaseterdnt. Only one mountain area remaining: Suldals/Ryfylke/Setesdals-heiene.
Route: Finse-Krækkja-Sandhaug-Litlos-Haukeliseter.

Skarvheimen is quite simply full of stones. Had to Skarvheimen is quite simply full of stones. Had to wait out a snowstorm for 4 days in the @turistforeningen Skarvheim hut, but luckily the snow melted rapidly. As usual I didn’t meet anyone on the entire 10 day section where the section between Bjordalsbu and Iungsdalshytta was the most spectacular. September 11-21.

Jotunheimen was the first major mountain area, whe Jotunheimen was the first major mountain area, where I had relatively bad weather, including a minor snow storm keeping me in the tent for 1,5 days close to a mountain pass. It is beginning of September and surprisingly I did not meet one single person before passing two guys at Koldedalsvatnet. Despite heavy fog and sporadic snow they were on their way to climb Falketind. I later saw on facebook that they made it.

Breheimen: One of the most spectacular national pa Breheimen: One of the most spectacular national parks in Norway, and the toughest as well as the most beautiful section I passed since the Narvik Mountains. This is also where the long-distance trail #DNTmassiv starts (@sotaseterdnt), which I will follow for the entire 363 km until Haukeliseter through Breheimen, Jotunheimen, Skarvheimen and Hardangervidda.

I’ve now come to the “National Park Section” I’ve now come to the “National Park Section” of the trail, where I’ll cross five national parks right after another: Reinheimen, the least visited, first. So little visited that the trail through one of the main valleys is unmarked and the free public timber hut Bergebua in the middle of nowhere is also unmarked on the maps. On the contrary this is where I met the most people: Several parties of reindeer hunters were traversing the park. And had I been quicker, I’d have taken plenty of pictures of the first wild reindeer herd I saw, but they are so fast and they saw me long before I saw them.
Route: Lesjaverk (Romsdalen)-Lordalen-Billingsdalen-Pollfossen-Sota Sæter.
